From Costa Rica, Pura Inspiration is born to celebrate ideas, stories, biodiversity, experiences and products inspired by the nature of the tropical forest.
Rainforests are unique places, both because of how useful they are for our survival and because of their beauty. They are generators of environmental services that serve human well-being locally and globally, from the production of water that supplies towns and moves agriculture to the regulatory function that they fulfill with the climate on the planet. In addition, its fantastic biodiversity allows us to understand the concept of "Life" in all its expression.
Unfortunately, thousands of years of unplanned exploitation have resulted in these forests today only covering 10% of the planet. At the current rate of deforestation, in 100 years, these forests will have disappeared. The problems that affect them, beyond latitude, are almost always the same: advance of the “agricultural frontier,” illegal logging, and wildfires.
Costa Rica, through innovation, has managed to reduce its deforestation rates. With models that value the services these places offer or allow the planned extraction of wood from natural forests. Still, it is impossible to speak of a victory, and no doubt it will take miles of more good ideas to conserve and regenerate tropical forests. Fortunately, we have the most inspiring of the muses; Nature itself.
A long way after leaving Chile for the first time and living unforgettable years in Ecuador. After a lifetime making strategies and creativity for brands in different places. After falling in love with Costa Rica, with its nature, its people and its history. Even after seeing my daughter born here. After these “few” things, a simple question arose: what was I doing in Costa Rica almost when I reached my fifties? Instead of finding an answer, I found to queries, and not a few of them:
Is there any special relationship between this country and ideas?
What kind of ideas can we export?
How can creativity add value to triple impact solutions?
Does Costa Rica have a global role?
What is the value of biodiversity for this country?
It would be pretentious and false to claim that behind this project are all the answers for these questions. They are definitely not here.
All can say is that these are the kind of questions that inspire us.
Welcome to Pura Inspiration.
